A l’occasion du festival, il se penchera sur l’impressionnante carrière du guitariste belge Philip Catherine. Pour compléter ses explications, Jean-Pol s’appuie sur des archives et des extraits vidéos parfois devenus rarissimes !

For this 2019-2020 season, Jean-Pol Schroeder has decided to present 15 portraits of jazz musicians who have marked their time. From some of the mythical American figures such as John Coltrane or Duke Ellington, to national figures such as Philip Catherine, Jean-Pol presents these portraits with passion and relies on archives and video clips sometimes become extremely rare! This special lecture will focus on Philip Catherine's career.

Jean-Pol Schroeder zal in het nieuwe Jazz Station seizoen vijftien portretten schetsen van jazzmusici die hun stempel hebben gedrukt op de jazz van hun tijd. Bijna mythische figuren zoals een Ellington en een Coltrane, maar ook Belgische topmusici, zoals een Philip Catherine. Jean-Pol Schroeder is een bevlogen lesgever en illustreert zijn uiteenzettingen met uniek en zeldzaam audio- en videomateriaal.
